NOVEMBER DATES

I have a few things that are my staple services: Stand Up Comedy, Improv Comedy & Emcee'ing. Teaching and Speaking are my former career skills and are also creeping back into my regular routine and repertoire. BUT once a year, in the month of NOVEMBER, which is my favourite month because its my birthday month, I also get to play dress up and read stories to kids. So, along with a school assembly, emceeing a couple of fundraisers, and telling some jokes, Clifford the Elf will also be making his 4th annual appearances.

Thank You Jerry Seinfeld

For our 16th anniversary, my wife bought us tickets to see Jerry Seinfeld at the Queen Elizabeth theatre in Vancouver. It was also part birthday present, because not sure if you know this, Jerry Seinfeld is a pretty big deal (and ticket). That said, our babysitter had never seen his TV show, his stand up and didn’t even know who he was… at all. I am quite positive it was the first time I had one of those “what planet have you been living on?” moments. Great kid, but no longer allowed around my children until she is educated. Even my 6 year old knows Jerry Seinfeld thanks to BEE Movie. Her parents clearly failed her.

On Monday I am turning 39 years old. I don't feel 39. I do feel thankful though. When I look back over the year I can recall some high points as well as some low points. I have won some and failed a wee bit more. More importantly, I have made key discoveries that I'd like to share:

Run for the Cured Meats

Yesterday a report highlighting the dangers of cured meats was released to the world and social media jumped all over it. As a family who lives off of a steady diet of hot dogs I cringed at the idea that it MAY cause cancer when I know for certainty that they DO cause campfires. I realize that we should make some adjustments to our eating habits because we love our children, but first a few jokes...

I am not just another funny face... I thinks deep about stuff. This blog will be about comedy, faith, leadership, family, parenting, diversity and other things that get my noodle cooking. The hope is that the content will entertain & inspire each of us to ... now I am just babbling. Read it. Or don't.
